Getting help in Worklog

Get answers on the spot from the built-in Help assistant, browse the full Help Centre of step-by-step guides, and reach a real person on WhatsApp when you want a hand with your setup.

Two places to find help

Worklog has two built-in ways to help you. The Help assistant is a chat helper that answers a specific question right there and then. The Help Centre is a library of step-by-step guides — like this one — that you can browse and search. This guide covers both, plus how to reach a real person when you need one.

What the Help assistant is

The Help assistant is a friendly chat helper that answers your questions about how to use the app, and explains South African tax and labour rules in plain language. Ask it anything, any time, right inside Worklog.

It can point you straight to the right tool too. When your question is about a specific part of Worklog, the answer often shows an Open button that jumps you there, plus a suggested follow-up question or two you can tap.

Open the Help assistant

  1. On the home screen, look at the top of the page.
  2. Tap Help.
  3. A window titled Help opens, ready for your question.

Ask a question

When Help opens you will see a short blue note that says Ask me anything, and a list of Popular questions to get you going, like Where do I start?, How do I send a quote? and How does VAT work in Worklog? Under the Popular questions there is also an "Or browse the full Help Centre →" link, if you would rather read the step-by-step guides.

  1. Tap one of the Popular questions to ask it straight away.
  2. Or type your own question in the box at the bottom that says Ask a question, then tap the arrow button to send it.
  3. Read the answer. If an Open button appears, tap it to go to that tool. If follow-up questions appear, tap one to ask it next.
💡You can keep the conversation going. Each answer may offer a follow-up question or two, or you can just type your next question in the box.

Browse the Help Centre

The Help Centre holds all the step-by-step guides in one place, grouped by topic. There are three ways to open it.

  • On a computer, tap "❓ Help Centre" near the bottom of the menu down the left of the screen.
  • On your phone, tap "More" at the bottom right, then "❓ Help Centre — browse all guides".
  • Inside the Help assistant, tap "Or browse the full Help Centre →" under the Popular questions.

What it can and cannot do

  • It explains how to use Worklog and gives practical tips.
  • It explains SARS and labour rules in general terms, like how UIF, PAYE and VAT work.
  • It can send you to the right tool with an Open button.
⚠️The Help assistant gives general guidance, not advice for your exact situation. Worklog is record-keeping software, not a tax or financial adviser. For anything specific to your business, speak to SARS or a registered accountant or tax practitioner. And remember Worklog does not send email — you share quotes, invoices and other documents by saving or printing a PDF, or through your phone's share sheet, usually WhatsApp.

When you need a real person

The Help assistant handles most how-to questions on its own. But if you are just getting started, or you want a person to walk you through your setup, Worklog gives new subscribers one-on-one setup help on WhatsApp. You are never left to figure it out alone.
